Wagner The Flying Dutchman Overture
Britten Four Sea Interludes
Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade
Prepare to be swept away by a concert inspired by the power, mystery and ever-changing moods of the sea. Wagner’s dramatic Flying Dutchman Overture launches us into a world of storms, legend and relentless waves, before Britten’s Four Sea Interludes paints the sea in all its shifting colours — from eerie stillness to crashing tempest. Then set sail for distant shores with Rimsky-Korsakoff’s dazzling Sheherazade, where exotic melodies, swashbuckling adventure and richly coloured orchestration bring the tales of the Arabian Nights vividly to life.
From dark and turbulent waters to shimmering horizons, Tide and Tempest promises an exhilarating evening of orchestral storytelling. Batten down the hatches — this is one voyage you won’t want to miss!
