Portsmouth Baroque Choir performs a wide repertoire from the late Renaissance to the present day and often programmes works that are infrequently heard.

It normally undertakes four concerts each year: in October, a Christmas concert in December, at Easter-time, and in midsummer. Many works are performed unaccompanied, but they also regularly combine with small groups of orchestral instruments, such as the Consort of Twelve. Members of the choir are often used as soloists. Concerts are held regularly in the Solent and Chichester Harbour area, occasionally featuring music written especially for them by local composers.

It presently has about 25 members in the choir. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to come and try singing with them before auditioning for the choir. They rehearse at Buckland Community Centre on Monday evenings.

In 2019 it won the Portsmouth News Guide Award for the Best Classical Act, for its performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor.
